Your voice influences patient care at every turn across the emergency department in Gainesville. You collaborate with managers, medical providers, and the broader nursing team to shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates patient needs, resolving issues proactively.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology into clear, understandable information.
  • Educates patients and families on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for self‑management.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Specialty certification as an Emergency Nurse with Pediatric Credential (COUR, PALS, PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or a Nursing diploma/Associate’s degree, obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • No travel required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar nursing role.
