Overview:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Emergency Department Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The RN identifies actual and potential health concerns, develops appropriate nursing interventions, and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care- Assess patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
- Identify actual and potential health problems.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions and modify care as needed.
- Advocate for patients and promote high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Involve patients, families, and significant others in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care whenever appropriate.
- Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Supervise and direct care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAPs).
- Delegate patient care activities to qualified members of the healthcare team based on competency and scope of practice.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure safe, effective patient care.
- Participate in unit-based activities that foster a positive work environment and professional growth.
- Maintain accountability for nursing practice and professional development.
- Support a culture of trust, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates care that supports the organization's mission of delivering exceptional patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous, accountable nursing practice through patient advocacy, innovation, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
Qualifications:Qualifications Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred at the time of hire.
- Professional Nursing Board Certification preferred at the time of hire.
- Nurses hired after April 30, 2014, without a BSN are required to obtain a BSN within three (3) years of their hire date.
- Nurses hired after June 30, 2011, without a Professional Nursing Board Certification are required to obtain certification within two (2) years of hire.
- For certifications requiring more than two years of nursing experience, certification must be obtained at the earliest eligibility date.
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
This position does not require operation of a vehicle for an assigned business purpose.
Note: A frequent driver is defined as an employee who:
- Uses a personal or organizational vehicle at least once daily; or
- Makes five or more individual trips per week; or
- Drives an average of more than 150 miles per week while performing job duties.
