Registered Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit - Nights

About the Unit

Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit (CVIMC) is a 24‑bed unit monitored continuously at the bedside and through the Central Monitoring Unit with a patient‑to‑nurse ratio of 3:1 or 4:1. This unit provides dedicated care to patients undergoing advanced cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.

• Pre and post open cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
• Pre and post cardiac catheterization patients
• Pre and post cardiac intervention patients, including pacemaker insertions and ICD implantations
• Patients with arterial and venous sheath care, monitoring, and removal
• Patients with cardiac arrhythmia requiring treatment
• Pre and post electrophysiology and ablation therapy patients
• Pre and post valve replacement patients, including TAVR
• Pre and post vascular surgery patients, including carotid procedures, TCAR, femoral popliteal bypass, and AAA

• Manage drips such as inotropes, antiarrhythmics, insulin, and DKA/HHS protocols
• Perform evidence‑based nursing care in an interdisciplinary setting
• Lead interdisciplinary rounds and facilitate appropriate clinical transitions
• Participate in unit councils, quality teams, and shared governance activities
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives focused on patient experience and nurse satisfaction
• Demonstrate leadership of self and others, delegating appropriately while maintaining accountability for care quality
• Maintain de‑escalation training certification as required for the unit

• Licensed as an RN in Georgia
• Associate’s Degree, ADN, or Diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience with proven competence in RN I performance expectations
• Experience in cardiovascular or intermediate care nursing (preferred)
• Basic computer skills for unit systems
• Demonstrated commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous learning
