Millhopper Free Standing Emergency Department: NFRMC

Gainesville, FL

• Number of Beds: 11
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 or less
• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability):
  Staffed with RN’s and Advanced Practice Paramedics
• Type of equipment:
  All state of the art medical equipment, onsite lab and full service radiology services
• Documentation system:
  Meditech
• Scheduling requirements: 36 hours with every other weekend
• Floating policy:
  May have the option to float to another FSED within 4 miles. Employee choice
• Patient Experience requirements: ED experience necessary

• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must have: proficient in taking care of emergency department patients. This FSED is a high acuity and moderate complexity FSED. Average volume 100 patients per day. Staffed in addition to nursing staff, board certified emergency medicine physicians, APP’s, and resident physicians. Working with this set of providers is helpful

Advanced skills needed: Basic knowledge of BiPap and ventilators used on ED patients

Procedures performed on unit: Normal ED procedures from advanced, chest tube to minor, sutures

Certifications

Required:

BLS, ACLS, PALS

Dress Code: scrubs
