A 523-bed, full-service acute care hospital in Gainesville is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Renal Vascular unit. This facility is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, accredited by The Joint Commission, holds an Accredited Chest Pain Center designation from the American College of Cardiology, and is recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.
Position OverviewThe Renal Vascular RN provides direct, patient-centered care to adult patients within a collaborative interdisciplinary care environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, independent assessment skills, and the ability to develop and manage individualized care plans based on complex patient needs.
The RN serves as a patient advocate throughout the continuum of care while supporting safe, effective, and efficient treatment delivery. Patient and family education is a key component of this role, ensuring understanding of diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and collect clinical data
- Analyze patient information to identify nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Provide direct nursing care to adult renal vascular patients
- Administer medications and monitor therapeutic response
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and medications
- Advocate for patient safety and quality care across the care continuum
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
- Ensure appropriate use of clinical resources, supplies, and equipment
- Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required (any clinical setting accepted, including LTAC or Home Health)
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred - Current Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license required
- Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation
- Basic Life Support (BLS - AHA Healthcare Provider) required prior to start
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of hire
- Basic Cardiac Life Support required within 30 days of hire
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient care skills
- Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekends required
- Night differential: $4.25/hour
- Evening shift differential: none
