Overview
About Bio Life Plasma Services – a Bio Life donor center professional supports plasma center operations and donor care. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) is familiar with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs to provide center-level environmental, health and safety (EHS) support.
Job DescriptionYou will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. You will support donor safety and comply with applicable regulatory and SOP guidance.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including the graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities: LPN or LVN
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience

- Gainesville. U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44. The estimated range reflects expectations; actual offers depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
The actual hourly wage will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, wellness benefits, and paid time off limits (sick and vacation) as applicable.
