Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services, a Takeda company, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and works under the Center Physician for medical issues. The position requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment, and involvement in environmental, health and safety guidance.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs; assist in developing Center Physician's standing orders and arrange donor transport to emergency care facilities as needed.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; refer to EHS guidance for employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy (in state of licensure).
- Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

USA - FL - Gainesville. U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44; actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for incentives and a wide range of benefits.
