Unit:
Mother Baby Unit – 30 postpartum beds in the Gainesville Mother Baby Unit.

Schedule:

Wednesday 3pm‑11pm and Thursday 11pm‑7am.

• Provide direct safe patient care based on the nursing process.
• Coordinate care for assigned patients on a shift to promote clinical outcomes.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, unit council, and nursing quality teams.
• Demonstrate competence in RN I performance expectations and provide feedback to improve clinical practice.
• Serve as a partner on the care team and respond to team needs.
• Lead interdisciplinary rounds for appropriate care transitions.
• Apply nursing process to meet clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Communicate clearly with all healthcare team members, incorporating safety behavior and error prevention tools.
• Engage in continuous learning, evidence‑based practice, and quality improvement activities.
• Delegate care as appropriate while retaining accountability for quality of care.
• Support unit-based shared governance, self‑care activities, and promote a positive work environment.
• Achieve and maintain de‑escalation training certification as appropriate.

• Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
• Associate’s Degree, ADN or Diploma required.
• At least 1 year of RN experience, demonstrating competence in RN I performance expectations.
• BSN preferred.

• BSN or higher education.
• Experience with postpartum or newborn care.
• Experience in a settings involving complex patients.

• Lift up to 100 lbs; carry up to 50 lbs.
• Vision, kneeling/stooping, standing/walking, and pushing/pulling frequently within 31‑65% of time.
• Intensity of work frequently 31‑65% of time.
