Position Summary:We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing practice. This position requires a minimum two-year contract. The ideal candidates will be committed to providing exceptional patient care with a focus on integrative medicine, functional medicine, and preventive health. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a dynamic and patient-focused setting.
The NPs will play a key role in diagnosing and treating patients using a combination of conventional and holistic approaches while emphasizing patient education, lifestyle modifications, and wellness strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and lifestyle evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique health needs.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, imaging studies, and functional medicine testing.
- Prescribe medications, supplements, and other treatments in accordance with licensure and patient-specific needs.
- Provide patient education and counseling on disease prevention, nutrition, lifestyle changes, and holistic wellness strategies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Angeli Akey (Yale-trained MD), and supported by an ARNP, and an acupuncturist to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in practice development initiatives, such as group medical visits/seminars, outreach, and wellness programs.
- Stay current with developments in integrative and functional medicine through continuing education.
- Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active Florida license (or eligibility) as an NP.
- Board certification (national certification for NPs).
- Minimum of 2+ years clinical experience in primary care, integrative/functional medicine, or a related field.
- Strong interest in functional medicine principles (nutrition, gut health, hormone balance, etc.).
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
