Travel RN - CVICU
Travel RN position in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The unit features a primary RN model with support from unit clerks and occasional technicians. Patient ratios are managed to ensure optimal care. Equipment includes Alaris pumps and a Level 1 Rapid Transfusion documentation system. Scheduling requires 36 hours/week with every other weekend or three weekend shifts per month. Floating to critical care may be needed as necessary.
All staff are expected to meet patient experience requirements. Candidates must demonstrate critical care competencies, including vasoactive infusions, arterial lines, invasive central lines, and ventilator management. Advanced skills such as cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology experience are preferred but not required. Procedures performed on the unit include chest tube placement, central line placement, bronchoscopy, and percutaneous tracheostomy. Candidates are required to wear royal blue scrubs.
This unit is recognized as an ECMO center, managing multiple patients on ECMO, alongside high surgical volume cases. The unit participates in high-risk PCI cardiology and cardiogenic shock programs.
