The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is a 40,000 sq foot hospital at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), a high profile 300-acre equine facility in Ocala, 30 minutes south of Gainesville. UF Veterinary Hospitals at WEC provides Small Animal primary care and urgent care services and Equine sports medicine, rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging services.
A Veterinary Assistant at the UFVH at WEC assists with small animal and equine patient care, procedures, stocking, administrative support, and general cleaning and maintenance of the hospital and equipment. An individual in this position must possess horse handling skills and experience and enjoy learning new things.

The hospital requires coverage 24 hours/7 days a week. Schedules typically include 8, 10, or 13.5 hour shifts. Primary shift assignment (Day, Evening, Night) will be made, with possible reassignment to rotating, split, or extended shifts based on hospital needs. Days may vary from Sunday through Saturday, including weekends and holidays. This position may require working alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, or on-call duty.
The individual is considered essential personnel and may report to work during Main Campus closures.
$15-17 /hour
Qualifications- More than two years of work experience handling and restraining horses
- Experience in veterinary medicine
