Dr. Feifei Xiao’s laboratory at the University of Florida’s Department of Biostatistics is accepting applications for a fully funded post‑doctoral associate position. The role focuses on developing machine learning and deep learning methods for analyzing large‑scale single‑cell DNA‑seq, RNA‑seq, ATAC‑seq, and spatial transcriptome data. The candidate will also develop modern statistical approaches for integrating multi‑omics datasets and performing causal inference to understand the underlying architecture and causal factors of human diseases such as cancer, aging‑related outcomes, and sepsis.
Key Responsibilities- Methodology and software development for single‑cell and multi‑omics data analysis
- Data analysis and interpretation of large‑scale sequencing datasets
- Manuscript writing and presentation of research findings at conferences
- Assistance with grant applications and academic publications
- Collaboration with faculty and graduate students across the Department of Biostatistics and related colleges
- Doctorate (PhD) in Biostatistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Proficiency in R and/or Python
- Prior experience in genetic or genomic data analysis
Initial funding covers two years, with a potential second two‑year appointment based on need and productivity. Expected salary: $62,232 annually, commensurate with experience and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines.
