Required: Bachelor s degree in biology or a closely related life science field.
Responsibilities- Research: Assist laboratory staff in the conduct of research under the supervision of postdocs or the principal investigator. Conduct data collection using basic molecular procedures (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, electrophoresis, molecular cloning, sequencing) and perform gene expression analysis (qRT-PCR). Participate in group meetings and individual meetings with the principal investigator to discuss research results.
- Laboratory Support: Serve as the administrative support of the laboratory. Maintain proper function and organization, including managing day-to-day operations of the zebrafish colony, ordering and tracking supplies, ensuring maintenance/calibration of equipment, organizing SOPs, assuring regulatory compliance, and updating records. Collaborate with undergraduate students, graduate students, research associates, and collaborators.
- Training of lab personnel: Train and work productively with undergraduate and graduate researchers and collaborators in a multi-disciplinary lab environment. Direct involvement in training on research methods, lab safety, and SOPs.
Expected Salary: $22.50 - $23.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.

Preferred QualificationsPreferred: This position is well-suited for a recent college graduate seeking hands-on biomedical research experience. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and able to execute an original research project, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with statistical programs and/or Excel, and some prior research experience, are preferred.
