- Assists with the maintenance and use of recirculating aquaculture systems, laboratory equipment, and associated components to ensure proper functionality and efficient operation.
- Assists with feeding, brood stock maintenance, egg collection, and egg quantification in support of aquaculture research activities.
- Monitors and maintains the health and welfare of aquatic organisms, including oversight of water quality parameters and system conditions. Provides recommendations to improve maintenance and spawning of aquatic organisms.
- Participates in research activities and project objectives as assigned by the supervisor, collaborates effectively with faculty, staff, students, and laboratory personnel.
- Operates and drives state/UF vehicles as needed in support of research, maintenance, and operational activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
$20.92 per hour
Required Qualifications- Associate's degree in an appropriate area; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
- Education and/or experience in aquaculture or a closely related field.
- Effective communication of research data and results through oral presentations and written reports.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Proficiency with computer hardware and software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
