Job Description
This position is located in the Department of Pediatrics’ Child Health Research Institute. It involves performing laboratory experiments using established applications and procedures, including perfusion, dissection, mouse behavioral tests, IP injections, PCR for genotyping, protein assays, Western blots, RNA extraction, tissue culture, histology, confocal microscopy, and other molecular biology tests. The role requires tissue culture of animal cell lines and primary cell lines, exposure to animal tissues for harvesting and processing, participation in all IACUC‑approved animal studies, animal husbandry, breeding, daily checks, weaning, tail snips and harvesting, maintenance of the lab, training new members, and accurate record keeping in a lab notebook.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in a biological science or related field.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with rodent handling and behavioral testing.
- Experience with animal dosing, tissue collection, and basic laboratory techniques.
- Familiarity with IACUC and laboratory safety requirements.
