The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine
- Jacksonville invites applications for a full‑time research faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates will establish an independent, extramurally funded clinical research program of outstanding quality and assist with ongoing funded projects. The program should focus on pain management, emergency medical services/prehospital care, clinical toxicology, pharmacogenomics, asthma, precision emergency medicine and related fields. Candidates may come from disciplines such as toxicology, pharmacy, emergency medicine, emergency medical services, or critical care.

• Develop a high‑impact, funded research program aligned with the department’s focus areas.
• Partner with clinicians in a multidisciplinary approach to conduct patient‑focused, translational research.
• Pursue funding from a variety of sponsors, including industry, foundations, and federal agencies.
• Mentor students, fellows, and post‑doctoral researchers.
• Contribute to the collaborative research center on emergent/critical care topics.

• Doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, etc.) in a field related to emergency medicine, acute care, or resuscitation science.
• Early‑career candidates with a promising publication record and post‑doctoral research experience.
• Mid‑career candidates with demonstrated ability to obtain extramural research funding as a principal investigator.
• 2–3 years of experience conducting research in emergency medicine/acute care/resuscitation science and a proven track record of receiving funding from diverse sources.
