Job Description:

The Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics (HOBI) seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with a background in human factors, industrial-organizational psychology, health services research, implementation science, clinical informatics, or a related field. The Postdoctoral Associate will work under the mentorship of Dr. Gregory in the Department of Health Outcomes & Biomedical Informatics and will contribute to a diverse portfolio of funded, multidisciplinary research projects focused on improving health outcomes, healthcare delivery, patient-centered care, and mobile health.

The position will support multiple studies spanning a variety of clinical and public health topics, such as patient engagement, clinical decision support, HIV care, and improving outcomes for older adult patients.

Applicants must have or must be in the process of obtaining, a PhD in human factors, industrial-organizational psychology, health services research, implementation science, biomedical informatics, or a related field.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct and contribute meaningfully to research activities across multiple funded projects, including study design and implementation, literature reviews, data collection and management, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, development and evaluation of research measures, interpretation of research findings, and collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams and project partners.

Prepare, document, and disseminate research findings and project outcomes through peer-reviewed manuscripts, conference abstracts and presentations, research reports, grant-related reports and deliverables, and other scholarly products. Contribute to documentation of research methods, presentation and interpretation of data, preparation of manuscripts and conference submissions, and communication of research findings to scientific, clinical, and other relevant audiences.

Provide mentorship and guidance to PhD students through research collaboration, methodological support, review of research products, and participation in scholarly activities. Support students in developing research skills and contributing to funded research projects under the direction of Dr. Gregory.

Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to participating in research team meetings and professional development activities, supporting special projects and time-sensitive research needs, and completing other activities necessary to support the goals and deliverables of the research program.

$63,480 - $69,180 annually

Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. inhuman factors, industrial-organizational psychology, health services research, implementation science, biomedical informatics, or a related field.
Preferred:
  • Work and/or research experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Expertise in scale development and validation and/or user-centered design, usability testing, and qualitative interviewing methods.
  • Experience with R, SPSS, qualitative data analysis software (e.g., Atlas.ti, DeDoose), and prototyping software (e.g., Figma).
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic).
