Job DescriptionMaintain, repair, replace, and install plumbing components including pipe, fittings, valves, appliances, fixtures, and associated hardware
- Remove blockages in building drains using both electric and manual equipment.
- Maintain, repair, replace, and install drainage systems in compliance with the current Florida Building Code
- Maintain, repair, replace, and install domestic water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, and storm water systems in compliance with the current edition of the Florida Building Code
- Perform fixture repair and replacement, stove burner/switch repairs, window/blind repairs, door/lock repair, painting, pressure washing, roof/gutters cleaning, and ceiling tile replacement.
- Perform general construction tasks such as: remove/install floor and wall tile, repair grout; remove, replace, and/or repair doors and hardware; remove, replace, and/or repair cabinetry; remove, replace, and/or repair windows, window screens, glass, and window blinds; remove, replace, and/or repair gypsum based wall board and finishes; remove, replace, and/or repair ceiling tile and grid; removal and installation of floor covering and finishes: stretch in carpet, glue down carpet, LVT (luxury vinyl tile), VCT (vinyl composite tile, and hard tile (ceramic and porcelain);
Demolition of walls, ceilings, gypsum materials, floor finishes, etc. as directed
- Input and process work order requests utilizing web-based work order management system.
- Record detailed descriptions of work performed and notate preventative maintenance information
- Perform general cleaning duties after the completion of maintenance tasks within buildings or properties.
- Operates state vehicles
$22.12 per hour
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in plumbing; or a high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience; appropriate vocational/ technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience
Preferred Qualifications EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- Eight years of experience
- Working knowledge of the Florida Plumbing Code
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers and basic software applications (e.g. work order management systems, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with various levels of staff
- Demonstrated attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, and timeliness
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a multifaceted environment
- Ability to obtain within first year of employment, and maintain throughout employment, backflow prevention testing certification
- Position requires a valid driver's license
