Salary Range:
SPECIFIC SALARY and the maximum may exceed the posted range.
$34,760.00 - $38,236.00 Annually; $1,336.92 - $1,470.62 Biweekly
The hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities- The incumbent assigned to this position performs all types of carpentry, framing, roofing, cabinet repairs, finishing, trim work, masonry and building maintenance. Performs inside and outside painting, responsible for repair and installation of all doors and gathering materials and preparing estimates, and other related duties.
- Perform all types of carpentry, such as framing, roofing, cabinetry, repairs, finish work, trim work, and masonry.
- Responsible for gathering materials needed for each named job such as skill saws, drills, and other carpentry tools.
- Responsible for the repair and/or hanging of doors. Proper use of hand tools, including but not limited to electric saw, skill saw and trim knives.
- Build forms and assist in pouring concrete. Repair roof with tar and/or shingles.
- Install door closures, kick plates, and other hardware.
- Responsible for the operation of state vehicles and equipment.
- Prepare inside/outside of buildings to be painted, which includes prepping and priming of structures and equipment.
- Responsible for gathering materials for each named job such as paint, ladders, drop clothes and other painting tools.
- Ordering materials and preparing estimates.
- If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days.
- Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle.
- Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.
- Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency.
- Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Must be able to work near loud noises and electrical equipment.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces and/or on rooftops.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodation.
- Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, for prolonged periods of time.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of

- Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repairs, and maintenance.
- Materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings.
- Safety procedures that are required in maintenance and repair work.
