The Opportunity

The Operations Field Supervisor is responsible for supporting the ongoing operation of a major seawater desalination facility in the Caribbean. Candidate must have good communications skills as delivering training packages to island staff. While on-site, provide ongoing support to ensure optimal system performance.

A strong understanding of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SWRO treatment systems is essential. The ideal candidate will work hands-on with rotating equipment and membrane treatment systems.

This is a FIFO position with 30 day on-site and 30 days in Gainesville.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup, installation, and commissioning of water treatment systems at client sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on water treatment equipment and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor system performance, collect samples, and record operational data.
  • Complete monthly reporting and documentation related to site activities, system performance, and maintenance records.
  • Support and follow implementation of safe work practices, including adherence to OSHA standards and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow and assist in improving existing safe work procedures while contributing to the improvement of field documentation and reporting structure.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a hands‑on approach, with a willingness to work across fabrication, installation, commissioning, and ongoing operations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding system performance and service updates.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work logs, and equipment checklists.
  • Travel to various project sites as required (primarily within Florida and surrounding regions).
Qualifications, Education, and Skills
  • Technical diploma or certification in Environmental Science, Water Treatment, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in a field technician or operations role, preferably in water or environmental services.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with pumps, valves, filtration systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Water Treatment Operator Certification (or willingness to obtain) if required.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and remote monitoring tools is an asset.
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant technical software.
  • A valid driver's licence and US passport, and access to a vehicle.
