The Material Handling Maintenance Technician works independently to perform maintenance and repairs on the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), Order Picking, and other material handling equipment throughout the warehouse.
Responsibilities- Reports to the Material Handling Maintenance Manager.
- Performs advance maintenance and repairs on ASRS, Order Picking, and other material handling equipment.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on ASRS conveyors, pallet elevators, and palletizer systems.
- Performs major repairs on ASRS conveyors, pallet elevators, and palletizer systems.
- Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using appropriate test equipment.
- Troubleshoots ASRS conveyors, pallet elevators, and palletizer systems and recommends corrective action.
- Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses tools and equipment carefully as instructed.
- Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records.
- Answers after‑hours callbacks as needed, with possibility of working nights and weekends.
- Creates and closes work orders within the company’s fleet software, recording labor hours, parts, etc.
- Performs related work and other job assignments as required.
- Handles other building maintenance tasks as assigned by the manager.
- 3–4 years of maintenance mechanic experience on ASRS conveyors, pallet elevators, and palletizer systems.
- 3–4 years of experience in mechanical and material handling systems, or a combination of training/certification, with on‑the‑job training available.
- Strong communication skills.
- High mechanical knowledge and competency.
- Strong knowledge of various types of maintenance equipment.
- Strong knowledge of automated pallet handling systems and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work manually in mechanically oriented situations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and interpret electrical diagrams.
- High School Diploma or GED.
