Each year, we sponsor around 20 employees through the Santa Fe College HVAC Apprentice Program so they can earn a 4 year HVAC or Plumbing Apprenticeship Certificate. These team members work full time for our company and make a commitment to the 4 year program by attending classes 2 days a week for 4 years.
Comfort Temp also houses many in‑house training opportunities to support our team’s growth in the trade taught by senior staff or certified instructors with plans to launch our own Comfort Academy Training Program by the end of 2024. Our relationships with our wonderful vendors also enable Comfort Temp to house training programs brought in by various vendors to keep our team on the cutting edge of new technology or advancements in systems.
CT Mechanical was instrumental in launching a new Career Technical Education (CTE) Program in HVAC for the Alachua County School Board launching at Santa Fe High School in Alachua August 2024.

Job Summary:
CT Mechanical is seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Pipefitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining refrigeration piping systems. With your expertise in copper brazing and soldering, you will ensure that our systems are installed to the highest standards of quality and safety. If you have experience as an HVAC Install Technician, you might find this role particularly fitting due to the overlap in required skills.
Responsibilities- Inspect work site to determine the presence of obstructions and ensure that holes cut for pipe will not cause structural weakness.
- Plan installations or repairs to avoid obstructions and interference with the activities of other workers.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes as required for the job.
- Assemble and install a variety of metal and non‑metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
- Connect pipes using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures to shut down equipment according to OSHA requirements and company safety rules.
- Set up and operate various pipe cutting, bending, and threading machinery.
- Bend, cut, thread, shape, fabricate, and install pipe according to job specifications.
- Cut and bore holes in structures such as walls and fixtures before pipe installation; attach pipes to walls and structures.
- Conduct hydraulic pressure tests of piping installations, checking and adjusting controls, gauges, and valves to achieve control of flow or pressure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
