SES Constructors LLC (SCL) is growing! We are seeking a Pipe Layer to join our SCL team, a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH). In this critical role, you'll be operating multiple types of heavy equipment in civil construction such as excavators and bulldozers of all sizes to excavate, move and grade materials within finish specifications, and install/erect structures in a safe and efficient manner.

A Pipe Layer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipelines used for transporting water, sewage, gas, and other utilities. The position involves working in outdoor environments, often on construction sites, ensuring that pipes are properly laid and secured according to engineering specifications.

This position will be traveling to various project sites in the USA.

Pay range
: $26–28 per hour plus per diem.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lay and install pipes for water, sewer, gas, and other utilities in trenches.
  • Ensure proper alignment, slope, and depth of pipes to meet regulatory standards.
  • Connect and seal pipes and fittings using welding, threading, and soldering.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as trenchers, backhoes, and excavators to dig trenches and move materials.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on pipes to ensure proper functioning.
  • Work with engineers, laborers, and surveyors to ensure safe and efficient pipe installation.
  • Follow safety guidelines to avoid hazards associated with pipe laying, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Assist in preparing the construction site by removing debris and clearing pathways.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report to supervisors on project status.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in pipe laying.
  • Knowledge of pipe materials and installation techniques.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and machinery used in pipe laying.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow blueprints.

Additional Qualifying Factors
:
Pass a pre‑employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and a satisfactory background check. If applicable, obtain required clearance levels and be able to gain access to military installations.

Necessary Physical Requirements
:
Ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and communicate. Ability to bend, stoop, sit, walk, or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 35 pounds; work outside in extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and uneven surfaces; use personal protective equipment; maintain mental alertness.

Working Conditions
:
Combination of office and outdoor site locations. Office setting includes exposure to computer screens and extensive computer use. Outdoor settings involve walking, driving, carrying supplies across seasons with exposure to heat, cold, wildlife, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and loud noise.
