Job SummaryHVAC Mechanic responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing central chiller plant equipment, peripheral air handling units, refrigeration equipment, and associated control systems. Responsible for preventative maintenance, documentation, parts inventory, and general maintenance as directed.
JobSpecific Duties
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair central chiller plant equipment, peripheral air handling units, and associated electronic and electrical/pneumatic controls.
- Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment including walk‑in coolers/freezers, ice machines, and related controls.
- Perform general maintenance and construction functions as directed by supervisor.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in accordance with the operator’s manual.
- Document preventative maintenance performed on assigned equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of parts needed for repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of hospital electromechanical equipment and systems.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
Education Required or Preferred: High School Graduate or GED. Vocational/technical training. Significant related experience may replace the education requirement.
Experience Required or Preferred: 2 years related experience.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Demonstrated success in leadership, achieving results, communications, customer service, and health care management.
Licensure/Certification: Refrigeration Certificate.
