- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
- This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
- As a candidate, you are required to provide documentation (High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, etc.) to verify meeting the minimum qualifications.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems.
- Inspect and maintain air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment.
- Install new air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration units.
- Maintain shop equipment and comply with environmental regulations.
- Recharge air conditioning and refrigeration units with refrigerants as necessary.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the procedures and methods for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration and air‑conditioning units and component parts.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.
- Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work.
- Skill in using hand tools.
- Skill in installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration units and component parts.
- Skilled in operation of a backhoe.
- Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions.
- Ability to take accurate measurements.
- Ability to follow instructions.
