Conditions Of Employment
  • New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
  • New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
  • The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
  • This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
  • As a candidate, you are required to provide documentation (High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, etc.) to verify meeting the minimum qualifications.
Minimum Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Install new air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration units.
  • Maintain shop equipment and comply with environmental regulations.
  • Recharge air conditioning and refrigeration units with refrigerants as necessary.
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Knowledge of the procedures and methods for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration and air‑conditioning units and component parts.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work.
  • Skill in using hand tools.
  • Skill in installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration units and component parts.
  • Skilled in operation of a backhoe.
  • Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
