Each year, we sponsor around 20 employees through the Santa Fe College HVAC Apprentice Program so they can earn a 4 year HVAC or Plumbing Apprenticeship Certificate. These Team members work full time for our company and make a commitment to the 4 year program by attending classes 2 days a week for 4 years.

Comfort Temp also houses many in-house training opportunities to support our team’s growth in the trade taught by senior staff or certified instructors with plans to launch our own Comfort Academy Training Program by the end of 2024! Our relationships with our wonderful vendors also enable Comfort Temp to house training programs brought in by various vendors to keep our team on the cutting edge of new technology or advancements in systems.

CT Mechanical was instrumental in launching a new Career Technical Education (CTE) Program in HVAC for the Alachua County School Board launching at Santa Fe High School in Alachua August 2024.

JOB SUMMARY: Comfort Temp Heating and Air is seeking an experienced HVAC Install Lead to drive field execution and crew performance. This role requires a hands‑on leader with a strong technical foundation and a proven track record of successfully delivering residential and light commercial installations. The ideal candidate will lead installation teams, ensure code compliance, manage project documentation, and serve as the primary field representative to ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and supervise installation crew members on job sites
• Install HVAC systems including split systems, package units, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, ductwork, and ventilation systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, load calculations, installation specifications, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Ensure installations comply with local, state, and federal codes
• Perform start-up, testing, and commissioning of new systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues in the field
• Maintain clear communication with the office, sales team, and customers
• Ensure proper documentation of jobs, including photos, permits, and completion forms
• Train and mentor junior installers and apprentices
• Maintain job site cleanliness and professionalism
• Ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained and in good working order
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on all job sites

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of HVAC installation experience
• 2+ years in a leadership or lead installer role preferred
• EPA Certification (Universal preferred)
