Each year, we sponsor around 20 employees through the Santa Fe College HVAC Apprentice Program so they can earn a 4 year HVAC or Plumbing Apprenticeship Certificate. These Team members work full time for our company and make a commitment to the 4 year program by attending classes 2 days a week for 4 years.
Comfort Temp also houses many in‑house training opportunities to support our team’s growth in the trade taught by senior staff or certified instructors with plans to launch our own Comfort Academy Training Program by the end of 2024! Our relationships with our wonderful vendors also enable Comfort Temp to house training programs brought in by various vendors to keep our team on the cutting edge of new technology or advancements in systems.
CT Mechanical was instrumental in launching a new Career Technical Education (CTE) Program in HVAC for the Alachua County School Board launching at Santa Fe High School in Alachua August 2024.

Job Summary:
Comfort Temp Heating and Air is seeking a Residential Install Technician to support the installation of residential HVAC systems and related components. This role is designed for someone who has progressed beyond entry‑level helper work and can take on a larger share of installation responsibilities, while still working under the direction of an Install Lead, Field Supervisor, or Install Manager as needed.
The Residential Install Technician is expected to contribute meaningfully to jobsite productivity, safety, workmanship, customer experience, and documentation. This position is ideal for someone who is building toward a future lead role or for a seasoned installer who prefers to remain a strong second on the job rather than the primary lead.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Assist with and perform residential HVAC equipment installations according to company standards and manufacturer specifications
- Support change‑outs, system replacements, and installation of related components and accessories
- Measure, prepare, fabricate, and install basic ductwork and duct fittings as assigned
- Assist with system start‑up, testing, and verification of proper operation
- Identify basic installation issues, leaks, fitment concerns, or visible mechanical problems and report findings appropriately
- Perform jobsite preparation, teardown, cleanup, and material staging
- Ensure all required tools, equipment, and materials are present, organized, and maintained in good working order
- Support safe loading, delivery, transport, and removal of equipment and materials from customer sites
