Job Description- Assists with installing, repairing, and preventatively maintaining ceiling tiles and ceiling grids.
- Assists with installing, repairing, and preventatively maintaining fixed classroom seating, windows, window frames, and window screens.
- Assists with installing, repairing, and preventatively maintaining various types of flooring, vinyl and ceramic tiles, wall bases, and molding; assists with building countertops.
- Assists with installing, repairing, and preventatively maintaining metal and wood doors and door frames, mortise locks, hinges, exit devices, door closers, handicapped door operators, and other door hardware.
- Assists with pouring, forming, and finishing concrete; laying block and brick; and repairing plaster.
- Supports other trades and contractors; cleans/maintains shop and all related equipment.
- Operates UF vehicle (truck).
- Schedule may vary depending on location.
- 40 hours per week.
- Position considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State of Florida Class E operator license (required).
- Criminal background check (required).
- Post-offer health assessment (required).
- Beginner knowledge of safe work practices in maintenance and repair work.
- Skill in using hand tools and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to drive or walk to customer/trouble locations.
- Ability to move or lift weights (such as ladders, tools, and equipment) weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to climb.
- Ability to reach above shoulders frequently.
- Ability to kneel.
- Ability to bend repeatedly.
- Ability to pull and push repetitively.
