This is a full-time, on-site Journeyman Electrician role based in Gainesville, FL. The Journeyman Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across residential, commercial, and non-profit sites. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting electrical plans, wiring and connecting solar equipment, performing system testing, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. The role involves troubleshooting electrical issues, coordinating with project managers and installation teams, and documenting work performed.
The Journeyman Electrician is expected to follow company safety protocols, uphold quality standards, and contribute to efficient project completion.
- Strong foundation in electricity principles and practical electrical work skills.
- Experience with maintenance & repair of electrical systems, including routine inspections and preventive work.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical issues and diagnosing system performance problems.
- Understanding of electrical engineering concepts relevant to solar installations and system design.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent credential in the state of Florida.
- Knowledge of NEC, local electrical codes, and industry safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Comfort working at heights and outdoors, with ability to lift and carry equipment as needed.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with installation crews and project staff.
- Prior experience with solar PV systems is preferred but not required; willingness to learn solar-specific practices is essential.
