Fire Alarm Tech
- Gainesville

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician for a contract role in Gainesville, FL, with the potential for permanent placement. The primary responsibility will be conducting fire alarm inspections, with opportunities for cross-training in service work. This position involves working with Siemens and Notifier systems and requires a strong understanding of fire safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fire alarm inspections and potentially perform service work.
  • Review system layouts and coordinate with project teams for successful project execution.
  • Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
  • Program, commission, and ensure final acceptance of fire alarm systems by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA standards.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and provide effective resolutions.
  • Program systems using laptop computers.
  • Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
  • Ensure knowledge of where wires can and cannot be run, per Fire Marshall requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in fire alarm inspections. Candidates with a service background who can transition to inspections will also be considered.
  • Ability to obtain FASA/BASA certification upon starting.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the fire detection environment.
  • Knowledgeable in NFPA 72 code requirements and Florida fire procedures.
  • Ability to read fire system design drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET I certification is preferred but not required.
