Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics, Neurology Division, is currently accepting applications for a Psychologist. This Full‑Time position is staffed in our Multidisciplinary Diagnostic & Training Program (MDTP) and is a 12‑month, FTE 1.0 role at the FDLRS UF Multidisciplinary Diagnostic and Training Program.

• Administer a broad range of standardized cognitive, oral language (including phonological awareness), and academic achievement measures and parent/teacher questionnaires; interpret results and identify evidence‑based interventions; review data to assess response to interventions within an MTSS framework.
• Formulate written consultation and evaluation/assessment reports detailing students’ educational histories, prior findings, response‑to‑intervention data, and evidence‑based recommendations; plan and prepare intervention strategies for parents and teachers; coordinate and participate in case conferences to develop action plans.
• Conduct comprehensive progress monitoring assessments with students, families, and teachers; conduct classroom observations to determine effectiveness of recommendations.
• Provide consultation services to parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff to facilitate educational engagement, skill development, and post‑secondary transition for K‑12 students with complex needs.
• Develop and conduct in‑service and pre‑service training for educators, related professionals, and parents; participate in staff development programs.
• Serve as liaison between MDTP, schools, and agencies; maintain program databases; compile and draft reports on program activities; interpret regulations and recommend program improvements; prepare and maintain required records.

$92,500 – $102,500; commensurate with experience.

• Doctorate in psychology from an accredited institution, including one year of supervised internship experience.
• Licensure as a psychologist by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490, F.S.

• Doctorate in Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid license and certifications in an identified specialty from the State of Florida.
• At least three (3) years’ experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive within the north‑central Florida service region.
• Strong knowledge of a broad range of standardized psychological, language, academic, executive, and autism assessment measures and evidence‑based interventions for K‑12 neurocognitive and neurodevelopmental difficulties.
• Strong working knowledge of Florida’s Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and proficiency in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting student data.
• Ability to deliver evidence‑based consultation and instructional support to teachers, parents, principals, and district staff for struggling K‑12 students, including those with dyslexia and other special education needs.
• Proficiency in communicating evaluation findings in written and oral formats to help students, parents, and school personnel identify effective approaches for communication, learning, and behavior challenges.
• Ability to work with diverse groups, collaborate effectively, problem‑solve, and facilitate conflict resolution.
• Knowledge of current exceptional student education (ESE) policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and community resources for families of children with disabilities.
• Ability to design and deliver evidence‑based professional development/training to educators and related service providers.
• Experience with industry‑standard computer applications and effective use of technology.
