The University of Florida invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in AI-Powered Athletics. This interdisciplinary role focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and data-driven methods to enhance athlete performance, health, and research outcomes.

The successful candidate will work on projects utilizing UF’s comprehensive research databank on student-athletes — supporting both scientific discovery and athletic excellence through data analysis, visualization, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, analyze, and utilize athletic data to improve team performance and athlete well-being.
  • Develop and maintain tools for data curation, visualization, and AI-driven analysis.
  • Collaborate with UF researchers and University Athletic Association (UAA) staff.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, NCAA, and UAA privacy and reporting regulations.
  • Contribute to scientific publications, reports, and educational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Sports Science, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with human subject research and related ethics/regulatory approvals.
  • Proficiency in Python and Git/Git Hub.
  • Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data analysis methods.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard development (e.g., Streamlit).
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing environments.
