Driver Job Description Summary
- Basic function: operate several types of trucks/equipment.
- Main duty: operating a roll-off container truck.
Driver reports to and is directly accountable to the Equipment Manager.
Requirements- Education:
- Required:
High School Diploma. - Preferred: (none specified).
- Required:
- Licensing / Registration / Certification:
- Valid CDL Class A and/or Class B Driver's License with clean driving record.
- Experience:
- Required:
None. - Preferred:
At least 1 year of construction experience.
- Required:
- Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions and operate a variety of related equipment.
- Skill to judge distance and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch.
- Must be able to use hands, arms, and legs fully.
- Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift/carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Mental:
- Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English.
Work performed mostly outdoors. Workdays vary depending on weather. Overtime may be needed. Time and a half for all hours over 40 per week. Normal workday from 7:30am – 4:00pm.
Essential Functions- Operate various types of construction related trucks.
- Deliver material & equipment to various locations.
- Must be punctual.
- Assist warehouse crews when not driving/delivering.
- Complete equipment maintenance checklist beginning each day and prior to each trip.
- Maintain accurate and legible mileage log for vehicles operated.
- Complete all required delivery forms and turn into equipment manager each day.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and/or problems to equipment manager.
- Clean vehicles each week.
- Be at work on time every workday.
- Completes checklists for all trips made on a daily basis.
- Maintains accurate and legible mileage logs for each vehicle.
- Completes and turns in all delivery forms to equipment manager on a daily basis.
- Reports any and all equipment malfunctions immediately to equipment manager.
- Cleans vehicles on a weekly basis.
- Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
