Job Description Summary

The basic function of the driver is to operate several types of trucks and equipment, primarily a roll‑off container truck.

Reporting Relationships

The driver reports directly to the Equipment Manager.

Requirements
  • Education:

    High School Diploma required.
  • Licensing:
    Valid CDL Class A or Class B with a clean driving record.
  • Experience:

    None required; preferred at least 1 year of construction experience.
  • Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
    Ability to follow instructions, operate equipment, judge distance and slopes, and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to stoop, bend, crouch, use hands, arms and legs fully, see well (corrected or natural), and lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Mental:
    Must communicate, read and write in English.
Working Conditions
  • Work will be performed mostly outdoors; workdays may vary with weather conditions.
  • Overtime may be required; time and a half is paid for hours over 40 per week.
  • Normal workday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.
Essential Functions
  • Operate various types of construction related trucks.
  • Deliver material and equipment to multiple locations.
  • Maintain punctuality.
  • Assist warehouse crews when not driving or delivering.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete equipment maintenance checklist at the start of each day and before each trip.
  • Maintain accurate and legible mileage logs for vehicles operated.
  • Complete all required delivery forms and submit them daily to the equipment manager.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or problems to the equipment manager.
  • Clean vehicles each week.
  • Be on time every workday.
  • Measures of Performance
    • Completes checklists for all trips on a daily basis.
    • Maintains accurate mileage logs.
    • Turns in all delivery forms daily.
    • Reports equipment malfunctions immediately.
    • Maintains weekly vehicle cleanliness.
    • Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
