Fueler Service Technician – Gainesville, FL
Ryder is hiring a Fueler Service Technician in Gainesville, Florida. The position offers weekly pay of $21.50 per hour, a second shift schedule (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) from Monday through Friday with weekends off, and responsibilities that include fueling, washing and detailing fleet vehicles, performing inspections, managing fuel and DEF inventories, and assisting with maintenance tasks.
The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), at least two years of related work experience, proficiency in English written and verbal communication, customer service skills, and the ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain a CDL Class A within six months after hire. DOT safety and regulated service employee certifications are required, including passing a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and background check.
Responsibilities- Fuel, wash, and detail vehicles
- Perform multi‑point inspections on inbound units, checking tire pressure, oil, and reporting service issues to the shop
- Record fuel activity and maintain accurate fuel and DEF inventories and reconciliation
- Move heavy‑duty vehicles and perform minor maintenance tasks such as tire repairs under supervision
- Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and perform facility maintenance as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Two (2) years or more of related work experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to understand customer verbal communication
- Must be ≥18 years of age
- Understanding of computer hardware and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email; basic data entry skills
- High degree of thoroughness and dependability
- Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, and holidays
- Work at different locations
- Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to operate and self‑driven in a fast‑paced environment
- Capability for multi‑tasking, highly organized with excellent time‑management skills
