About the PositionThis position requires completion of 9th grade and a current classified Florida driver license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated. A CDL may be required based on the vehicle type.
Responsibilities- Ensure verification of specimens picked up at various locations and transport specimens at correct temperatures to maintain sample integrity.
- Record, monitor, and maintain temperature ranges for frozen, ambient, incubated, and refrigerated laboratory specimens.
- Deliver mail and materials to clients as designated by supervisor or lead courier daily.
- Fill client supply orders daily and meet 24‑hour turnaround for consumables and 48‑hour for printed material.
- Enforce laboratory specimen rejection/acceptance policy by confirming patient identification on specimens and requisitions.
- Maintain timeliness of assigned routes with associated timetables for each site to ensure turnaround times and optimal specimen receipt and reporting are met.
- Create and maintain database of stops, mileage, start and end times.
- Assist with new hire training, safety, policies, and procedures as directed.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including checking fluids, fuel, lubricants, tire pressure, and lights.
- Operate the vehicle safely, adhering to posted speed limits and navigating rough roadways, railroad crossings, and construction sites.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or other issues immediately and complete appropriate reports.
- Report any medication usage or illnesses that could cause impairment to supervisor.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Speak conscientiously to existing and potential customers, representing the company professionally.
- Escalate customer concerns or new customer opportunities to management.
- Provide support to Laboratory personnel as required.
- Identify potential customers along routes and communicate discoveries to Path Labs Client Relations team.
Starting salary is between $16.50 - $16.75 per hour.
Qualifications- Completion of 9th grade.
- Current classified Florida driver license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated. CDL may be required based on vehicle type.
- Health assessment required.
- Completion of 12th grade or equivalent.
- Good verbal and writing skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Medical courier experience.
- Background in customer service.
- Experience with product deliveries and fulfillment.
