Responsibilities- PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processes accounts payable invoices.
- Plans and directs daily A/P work process flow to meet productivity expectations.
- Conducts audits of accounts payable invoices in Northside systems to ensure receipt and recording of proper payment.
- Troubleshoots A/P issues, errors and concerns presented by department heads and vendors.
- Leads special projects as needed within the A/P area.
- Performs reconciliation and processing of daily deposit.
- Maintains records of daily pharmacy transactions and sales tax collected.
- Electronically deposits checks into appropriate bank accounts.
- Performs reconciliation of daily revenue transactions.
- Works with billing office staff to reconcile payment discrepancies.
- Processes patient and insurance refund checks.
- Audits cash drawers used by clinic front office teams.
- Receives and sorts daily accounting department mail; routes or processes as appropriate.
- Assists with various functions of both finance and billing departments as required/needed.
Required:
1. Six (6) months of clerical, secretarial or customer service experience or completion of postsecondary education.
2. Two (2) years of accounts payable experience, preferably in health care and exposure togeneral ledger accounting.
Preferred:
1. Completion of some accounting courses
2. Two (2) years prior accounting experience.
3. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
4. Knowledge of Microsoft and other accounting computer programs. Superior keyboard skills.
5. Knowledge of office procedures and practices. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, organizations, and the public.
6. Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors. Ability to conceptualize and prioritize workflow. Ability to problem-solve and conduct research from various sources on a number of different topics in order to perform fact-finding.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to represent the clinicin all situations in a positive and personable but professional manner.
