Successful applicants must be eligible to work in the United States on or before the confirmed start date. Individuals must maintain this eligibility throughout employment.
Serves as the Dean’s Assistant for the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Humanities and serves as Office Manager for the Department of Dance and the Department of Theatre.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
- Excellent writing skills and computer skills
- Ability to multitask and track varied deadlines
- Work experience in an academic setting is preferred
- Provides administrative support for the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Humanities.
- Provides administrative support for the Department of Dance and the Department of Theatre.
- Maintains accurate records; assists with budgeting functions (such as ordering supplies and developing purchase orders).
- Submits Work Orders (IT; Event Services; computer/classroom issues; meeting/event setup; building maintenance).
- Manages the office (answering phone/returning calls; communicating appropriate information to faculty/staff; managing multiple email inboxes; maintaining filing system for order receipts and invoices; sending, retrieving, and delivering mail).
- Assists with editing multiple web pages. This is in coordination with the Marketing Department.
- Populates the website calendar.
- Shares information about college/departmental events to faculty/staff and student newsletters
- Other duties as assigned.
No supervisory responsibilities required.
Work HoursFull-time. 37.5 hours per week. Generally, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department. Nights/weekends as needed.
Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must have the ability to travel short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Repetitive motion. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
