Job Overview
Position: Customer Service Representative
Department: Hall County Health Department, part of Georgia Department of Public Health – District 2
Location: 1290 Athens Street, Gainesville, GA 30507
Work Hours: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM;
Tuesday 8:00 AM‑7:00 PM;
Friday 8:00 AM‑12:00 PM (30 min lunch)
Pay Grade: F, G
Responsibilities- Under direct supervision, work and communicate with the general public, internal customers, and/or external customers to provide information and services meeting customer expectations.
- Under general supervision, similar duties; may resolve complicated issues involving customer service and/or research governing policies, procedures or laws to respond to clients or visitors.
- Initial check‑in of patients for General Intake, CHC, TRV, and STD clinics: obtain current address, phone number, insurance card, necessary documents.
- Monitor the patient waiting area; direct clients to appropriate clinics and assist with information for services outside the health department.
- Receive, screen and direct telephone communications; check voicemail and return calls throughout the day.
- Interpret and translate health‑care information for limited English‑proficient clients; convey translations to client/family regarding programs, guidelines, services, support systems and problems.
- Customer Service Representative 1:
High‑school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience communicating information in a customer‑service setting. - Customer Service Representative 2:
High‑school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience, or one (1) year of experience in a position equivalent to lower‑level Customer Service Representative 1.
- Ability to speak, read and write Spanish.
- 40‑hour work week (Monday–Friday)
- 13 paid holidays per year
