Position: LANIER TECHNICAL COLLEGE - ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY INSTRUCTOR; HALL COUNTY CAMPUS, Gainesville, GA 30507
Lanier Technical College - Hall County Campus;
Gainesville, GA 30507 is conducting a search for the following full-time, benefit-eligible, FLSA-exempt, salaried position.

POSITION: ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

REPORTS TO:

DEAN OF GENERAL EDUCATION

SALARY:
Upper $60's annually, depending on education, experience, and qualifications

EFFECTIVE:
This position is available now

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision, develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives;
Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Anatomy & Physiology courses;
Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives;
Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports;
Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area;
Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students;
Assists with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts. Manages administrative responsibilities related to scheduling, developing syllabi and teaching courses. Other duties as assigned by Dean.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* A Master's degree in Biology or medical field with appropriate subject-related coursework from a regionally accredited college or university, OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in appropriate subject-related coursework from a regionally accredited college or university, OR a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Chiropractic degree;

* Must work well in the classroom and in supervising diverse students in a variety of settings.

TECHNICAL

COMPETENCIES:

* Ability to work flexible hours - including day and evening hours

* Ability to teach at any LTC College Campus where Anatomy and Physiology classes are taught

* Ability to participate in appropriate staff development and campus activities

* Ability to supervise students in the classroom

* Ability to develop and evaluate lesson plans, and select appropriate textbooks

* Ability to direct and assess students' progress in achieving required competencies

* Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching of courses, data collection, and reporting for accreditation agencies, and the College.

* Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff

* Skill in the operation of work-related computers

* Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced level

* Ability to maintain accurate and organized records, and prepare lesson materials

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Power Point

* Effective decision making and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum and competencies):

Experience teaching in a postsecondary environment;
Experience teaching via online instruction;
Bilingual is a plus.
