Fieldwork Education Program Specialist

The Fieldwork Education Program Specialist is responsible for processing all field experience requests and providing support to all fieldwork assessment reporting as well as managing information systems in the School of Occupational Therapy. This includes the student and fieldwork database E
* Value and the development of other databases and/or spreadsheets as needed. This person also serves as the principal support for the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the School of Occupational Therapy and for OT students' fieldwork administrative needs. The assistant acts as a liaison to multiple student program supervisors, fieldwork educators, and other agency personnel in partnership with the SOT director, leadership team, and faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional accrediting body.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in database management.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications and Google applications.
  • Highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community while screening and handling confidential situations and materials.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written and web-based materials.

Job

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages ongoing contractual relationships with fieldwork sites to assure that appropriate fieldwork requirements are met and that site contact personnel are current and have necessary information.
  • Assists Academic Fieldwork Coordinator with development of new field sites.
  • Initiates new contracts for fieldwork sites.
  • Manages student fieldwork evaluation process including creating user accounts, generating evaluation forms, aggregating and reporting data.
  • Provides SOT leadership and faculty with data from E
    * Value and other spreadsheets needed for fieldwork reports and OT program evaluation.
  • Develops and maintains web-based resources for both students and facilities.
  • Manages technical aspects of fieldwork process as a liaison to student body.

  • Assists with management and maintenance of SOT data dashboard.
  • Works closely with School Office and Operations Managers in supporting school functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibilities required.

Work Hours:

Full-time. 37.5 hours per week. Generally, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department. Nights/weekends as needed.

Appointment Length: 12 months, continuous

Environmental and Working Conditions/Physical Demands and Aptitudes:
Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must have the ability to travel short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
