Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize control systems, including operational and maintenance procedures.
- Source, test, and evaluate new industrial control systems and automation equipment.
- Define ICS/MES solution standards and create detailed design specifications.
- Serve as subject matter expert supporting manufacturing engineers on ICS/MES implementations.
- Develop manufacturing control solutions focused on operator safety, productivity, and quality improvements.
- Manage project-related activities, including timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, and team collaboration.
- Implement new or revised processes by training technicians and supporting production teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen projects, process optimization, and workflow enhancements.
- Maintain compliance with government regulations and internal safety standards.
- Stay current on industry best practices by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and engaging with professional networks.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (3+ years) in software development, programming, or engineering/IT disciplines.
- Creation and troubleshooting of PLC programs (ladder logic)
- Ability to read and create electrical drawings
- Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, IT, and maintenance teams
- Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley VFDs, Compact Logix/Control Logix PLCs, Panel View HMIs
- Familiarity with Rockwell software:
Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000/500, Factory Talk View Studio, Connected Components Workbench - Experience with Keyence safety devices (SV scanners, GL light curtains)
- Experience with Mitsubishi GX Works2
- Proficiency in Autodesk software (AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor)
- Exposure to MES technologies, including automated data collection, visualization, and manufacturing efficiency/quality monitoring
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
- Ability to stand/walk throughout the shop floor, operate tools, and perform desk-based tasks as needed
