Customer Service Rep
Responsibilities
- Determine a customer’s vehicle issue.
- Document and prepare repair orders.
- Schedule service.
- Communicate with the customer.
- Prepare estimates.
- Obtain authorization.
- Close repair orders.
- Obtain appropriate form of payment from the customer.
The position reports to the Service Manager, is a 40‑hour a week position and is eligible for overtime. The position also qualifies for a monthly bonus incentive based on individual gross profit.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Professional dress and excellent oral and written communication skills with customers, vendors, and other contacts.
- Two years of related experience in a dealership.
- General knowledge of truck mechanical operations.
- Sales experience preferred.
The position works throughout the service bays in an open garage area. It is physically demanding: stand six to eight hours per shift; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel; lift and transport up to 50 pounds occasionally; and be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non‑hazardous materials. Road testing of vehicles may also be required.
