Summary: Working in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents, and students, the incumbent will be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders, helping students adjust and access the general education curriculum.
Essential Functions- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Provide speech and language therapy to students.
- Evaluate students using appropriate diagnostic instruments and interpret test results.
- Develop eligibility and evaluation reports.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEP) according to local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Conduct IEP meetings and convey results and recommendations for educational programming to parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with parents and teachers; review student folders, previous evaluations, and related documents to develop and implement appropriate educational plans for students and facilitate carryover of learned skills.
- Submit computerized Medicaid billing for reimbursement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Master’s Degree or higher, preferably in speech-language pathology or related field.
Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree or higher from a Professional Standards Commission‑approved accredited college or university in speech-language pathology preferred. Valid Professional Standards Commission‑approved certificate in speech and language pathology at level T‑5 or above required.
