Job Summary
Perform ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist and Supervisor, independently applying technical expertise to provide sonographic diagnosis across a broad range of patient age groups, from newborn to elderly.
Minimum Job Qualifications- Licensure or certifications:
Applicant must have passed the ARDMS Physics exam for registry. - Educational Requirements:

Minimum of one (1) year.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform quality sonographic procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively with others
- Operate all sonographic equipment according to equipment specifications.
- Produce quality sonograms consistently within ACR department protocols.
- Follow good radiation safety practices when applicable (i.e., ALARA) according to state and federal guidelines.
- Maintain patient records according the department standards.
- Demonstrate ability to rotate and provide services at all facilities, including monthly calls, work open shift coverages, and daily coverage participation.
- Properly assess patient according to exam ordered with appropriate documentation (check order, review previous images, check lab values when indicated, prep, screen for possible pregnancy, appropriate history, involve Imaging nurse when indicated, compliance with OB/GYN specific guidelines).
- Provide patient education pertinent to exam being performed and document in patient EMR.
- Accurately and completely utilize RIS according to department standards (i.e., order, arrive, start, complete, cancel, record complications and drug history).
- Perform other duties as assigned, including non-technical duties such as stock rooms, transporting patients, training new staff and students, special projects and attending departmental meetings.
