The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources Department by administering a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, volunteer and contractor compliance, benefits administration, HR compliance, personnel records management, employee engagement, and training coordination. The position also oversees volunteer onboarding and independent contractor compliance to ensure all personnel meet organizational, grant, licensing, and regulatory requirements prior to providing services within the Clubs.

- Assist the with the full-cycle recruitment process, including applicant screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and offer preparation. Maintain applicant-tracking records and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screenings, employment verification, and new hire documentation, ensuring timely completion and compliance with organizational policies.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with colleges, universities, community organizations, and workforce agencies to support recruitment efforts.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment efforts by reviewing and pre-screening volunteer applications and referring qualified volunteers to Club leadership for placement.
- Process volunteer onboarding requirements, including background checks, mandated reporter clearances, references, and placement at Club locations.
- Maintain volunteer records, distribute Volunteer Manuals, collect required acknowledgements, coordinate volunteer identification badges, and dress code attire, and serve as the primary liaison between volunteers and Club leadership.
- Coordinates annual background checks for the corporate board of directors and the advisory boards.
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating new employee orientation and onboarding activities.
- Prepare, collect, and maintain employment paperwork, acknowledgments, and required onboarding documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics, including technology access, employee badges, business cards, and other onboarding resources.
- Coordinates trainings with program administrators to ensure new hire candidates meet organizational expectations regarding training and materials.
- Creates employee checklist for trainings within the first 30 days of employment.
- Support employee engagement initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Assist in planning and coordinating employee recognition programs, appreciation events, organizational celebrations, and other employee engagement activities.
- Provide support to employees and supervisors by responding to routine questions regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, and employment practices, referring complex matters to the Director of Human Resources as appropriate.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations, documentation, and follow-up, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support initiatives that foster a respectful, diverse, equitable, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.
- Assist in supporting conflict resolution efforts and promoting effective communication between employees and supervisors.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, qualifying life event changes, and general questions regarding medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, and other benefit programs.
- Assist the Director of Human Resources in coordinating the annual Open Enrollment process, including employee communications, enrollment materials, and benefit meetings.
- Support the administration of leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, military leave, and other organizational leave policies by coordinating documentation, tracking leave, and maintaining confidential records.
- Coordinate with payroll, benefit providers, and the Director of Human Resources to ensure accurate benefit deductions, enrollment changes, and benefits administration.
- Assist with conducting benefit audits and reconciliations to help ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
