The Shipping & Receiving Manager oversees all shipping, receiving, and warehousing operations to ensure efficient, accurate, secure, and cost‑effective distribution services. This position is responsible for processing shipment orders, monitoring packaging and labeling of completed orders, evaluating carrier and departmental performance, and ensuring compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and company standards. The role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure smooth product flow from production through shipment while maintaining budgetary control and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of five years of supervisory or management experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, or operations is required.
- Strong knowledge of shipping industry regulations and shipping and receiving practices, in-depth knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation, and working knowledge of inventory systems management.
- Proficiency in electronic shipping software is required, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Knowledgeable in Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Defense and Food Safety programs, HACCP, inventory control systems, and OSHA regulations relating to forklift operation.
- A valid forklift operator license is required.
- Advanced analytical, leadership, organizational, budgeting, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, sales personnel, and customers.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, mass, and volume.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Ability to manage small and large projects, consistently meet deadlines, and develop written procedures to improve departmental efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

The Shipping & Receiving Manager enforces all company work procedures, safety rules, and company policies and ensures compliance with all HACCP programs, food safety plans, Safe Quality Food (SQF) programs, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Documentation Practices. The position manages and monitors shipping, receiving, and warehousing policies, programs, and procedures and develops and implements standard operating procedures as needed.
