Job overview
The Set-up Technician is responsible for preventive maintenance, performing changeovers, operating, and repairing machines and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of machines and equipment
- Performing minor repairs and troubleshooting of machines and related equipment
- Performing changeovers of machines
- Troubleshooting machines within process parameters
- Preparing machine set-ups
- Checking programs on machines
- Operating material handling equipment
- Operating machines
- Loading and unloading machines
- Cleaning equipment and tools
- Quality inspection
- Labelling and transporting pallets
- Lockout/Tagout of machinery and equipment - LOTO
- Production reporting
- Ensure compliance with company environment and quality management systems, including ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards
- Following Internal Quality Issues procedure - IQI
- Ensure that safety rules and policies are followed
- Housekeeping - 6
IMS-Standard - Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Work experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment:
Minimum 2-4 years, preferred 5 years or more
Skills, knowledge, and abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office; ERP/CRM experience a plus
- Good reading comprehension of work instructions
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good ability to work in a team environment
- Good organizational skills
- Detail orientated
- Basic mechanical background
- Basic pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic knowledge
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Advanced math skills
- Basic knowledge of measurement devices
- Basic computer skills
- Attendance and punctuality
Exposure to manufacturing areas (noise, machinery, and moving parts) which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and slip resistant safety toe shoes.
Physical requirements
- Prolonged periods Lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. other lifting assisted by crane
- Pushing and Pulling up to 60 lbs. using material handling equipment
- Constant standing, walking, handling and using fingers
- Frequent bending, reaching outward and reaching above shoulders
- Occasional climbing, crawling, squatting, kneeling, working from heights and working in narrow spaces
