The Role At a GlanceThe Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for directing process improvement activities to ensure that the overall business objectives are achieved. Provide support, guidance, and action to drive lean behaviors targeting elimination of waste and variation from our manufacturing and business processes that result in cost savings.
How You’ll Create Greater ImpactIn this role, you’ll help deliver the highest quality product while upholding our unwavering commitment to animal welfare, food safety, and responsible farming. You’ll act boldly, embrace continuous improvement, and partner with teammates and customers to deliver wins.
- Work closely with the CI leadership and site leadership team to establish and implement lean manufacturing concepts.
- Provide coaching and mentoring on project management, team facilitation, and project execution to deliver project cost savings.
- Collaborate with area managers/supervisors on process improvement opportunities within their organizations.
- Develop and maintain business performance measures and conduct data analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and deliver presentations and basic training courses related to process improvement.
- Ensure operational activities adhere to lean standards (material flow, setup reduction, 6S & workplace organization, communication cells, TPM, etc.).
- Establish programs to develop and maintain standard operating procedures for existing processes and procedures.
- Support development and usage of key manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, CMMS, production labeling software, BI reports).
- Monitor and inspect project quality and ensure improvements are sustained via KPI measurements and dashboards.
- Share responsibility for self-development with immediate supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bilingual communication skills not required (English/Spanish) but strongly preferred
- Four-year college degree or equivalent business experience required.
- Ability to prioritize, follow through, and quickly gain in-depth working knowledge of applicable company processes.
- Strong working knowledge of CI strategies and ability to teach these tools to others.
- Advanced skills in data management tools to monitor progress toward goals.
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, highly motivated, and organized.
- Certified Lean Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred.
- 25% travel required domestically and to other plants; ability to work flexible hours for a multi-shift operation.
