DSI Technician

• This position is responsible for the performance of the DSI machine operation on their shift.
• This individual must possess good mechanical skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to produce quality products at levels that will allow the plant to meet or exceed its goals and objectives.
• This position reports to the maintenance lead & maintenance supervisor.
• This is a 3rd shift position.

Supervisory Responsibilities If Any:
No

• Tends numerically controlled equipment that automatically cuts or proportions raw chicken product.
• Activates control panel and observes lights and dials verifying panel and equipment are functioning. Inspects sections of DSI equipment, such as conveyors, spray heads, etc. ensuring that equipment is clean.
• Performs Preventative maintenance as directed from management.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, Pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to Lead and Supervisor.
• Ensure that work areas are clean, and that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) are fully followed.
• Promotes safety in the work area by understanding and following safety procedures and reporting all accidents in a timely manner.

• Working knowledge of machine maintenance.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic systems and how they work.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and how they work.
• Must be able to keep up with high pace production process.
• Must be able stay focused on job and work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be able work 5 to 7 days a week and work overtime without notice as needed.
• Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.

• High school or tech school education and 3 years of factory related experience in a maintenance environment.

• Must be able to stand for multiple hours and climb ladders to complete job functions.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able use both arms and hands while working on the production floor.
• Must be able to stand, reach, bend, and twist, including repetitive twisting and bending.
• Must be able to work in cold environment, (40 degrees).
• Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, slip resistant boots, Lockout/Tagout devices while performing certain tasks and anytime within the plant.
• Work performed in a production floor environment.

• Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments, plant production floor and shop environments, hot and cold temperatures, wet environments.
• Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
